OlyFed Announces Officer Promotions

Olympia Federal Savings (OlyFed) is pleased to announce the promotions of seven bank officers.

Loan Manager Jennifer ArnoldJennifer Arnold, Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer was appointed as a member of the bank’s board of directors.

In this new role, Arnold will expand her leadership role to include organizational governance. Arnold, who started as a Customer Service Representative 17 years ago, has advanced through every level of the bank serving as Lead CSR, Saving Counselor, Savings & Retirement Specialist, Assistant Branch Manager, AVP/Branch Manager, VP/Residential Loan Manager, SVP/Chief Banking Officer and EVP/Chief Operating Officer.

“Jennifer has been instrumental in helping OlyFed advance in just about every capacity of the bank.” Josh Deck, President & CEO said.

“OlyFed is now at a size and in a place where it will benefit from having two of our executive team members be a part of the board and with Jennifer’s strong understanding and working knowledge of the bank’s products, systems, finances and operations, she will be a fantastic addition to the board.”


Ryan Betz sitting in 222 Market Place in downtown Olympia WashingtonRyan Betz, Chief Strategy & Marketing Officer has been promoted to Executive Vice President.

Betz began his career at OlyFed in 2016 as Marketing & Public Relations Manager and has served as Assistant Vice President, Vice President and most recently as Senior Vice President. Serving as the bank’s CRA Officer, Betz also leads the organization’s Marketing, Community Relations, Wealth Management and Training teams, while also directing the Association’s product development and strategic growth initiatives.


James Vanderholm, Chief Financial Officer has been promoted to Executive Vice President.

Vanderholm, who joined the bank a year ago as a Senior Vice President, has quickly made a positive impact with OlyFed’s finances, culture and outreach efforts. Prior to joining OlyFed, Vanderholm served as VP/Controller with a community bank in Spokane and brought with him years of experience in public accounting with Moss Adams. Since coming to OlyFed, Vanderholm has joined the boards of both Senior Services of South Sound and Enterprise for Equity.

“Both Ryan and James work extraordinarily hard and have and continue to make tremendous contributions to the health and vitality of the bank and our community,” Deck said.

“These two individuals are wonderful team players and bring creativity, thoughtfulness and a model of servant leadership to their respective positions, while inspiring those around them.”


Lindsey Bamba on the westside of Olympia WashingtonLindsey Bamba, Retail Banking Manager has been promoted to Vice President.

Bamba who has been with OlyFed for more than 20 years, recently served as Assistant Vice President/Downtown Branch Manager. In her new role, Bamba will oversee the day-to-day operations of all eight of OlyFed’s branch locations and will help the Association’s banking teams continue to strengthen their knowledge and skills to better care for and support customer goals and needs. Bamba just finished a nine-year term as a member of the Child Care Action Council Board of Directors.

“Lindsey is a long-time OlyFedder who brings with her much experience, wisdom and customer care and support, which plays an important role in helping to lead OlyFed both now and into the future,” Deck said. “Respected by her colleagues, Lindsey is well deserving of this promotion, and I know she will continue to help us advance in how we deliver excellence in all aspects of our business.”


Amity at Tolmie State Park in Olympia, WashingtonAmity Muntz Reed, Operations Department Manager has been promoted to Assistant Vice President.

Muntz Reed began her career at OlyFed seven years ago as an Operations Assistant, was promoted to Operations Assistant Manager in 2021 and in 2024 she was named Operations Department Manager. Just this past year Muntz Reed graduated from the Washington Banker’s Association Executive Development Program (EDP). Muntz Reed has been recognized with many awards, including Employee of the Quarter in 2023 as she was incredibly influential in helping with the bank’s core conversion process and is very involved in supporting a number of community activities and efforts.


Heidi Retzlaff in downtown Olympia WAHeidi Retzlaff, Compliance Manager has been promoted to Assistant Vice President.

Retzlaff’s career with OlyFed started 28 years ago when she was hired as a Customer Service Representative (CSR) at the Downtown Olympia branch. Over the years, Retzlaff has served as Operations Assistant, Compliance Assistant, Operations Assistant Manager, Compliance Assistant Manager and now as Compliance Manager since April 2020. Retzlaff is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Professional and in 2019 helped start a nonprofit called Fur Love Haven, an animal rescue organization.


Rachel Rudenski at the Alderbrook in Union WashingtonRachel Rudenski, Belfair Branch Manager has been promoted to Assistant Vice President.

Rudenski joined OlyFed in 2010 as a Customer Service Representative, was promoted to Universal Banker in 2016, then quickly promoted to Assistant Branch Manager and then promoted to Belfair Branch Manager in 2020. A highly involved and engaged community member, Rudenski has played a critical role in OlyFed’s growth in North Mason County and beyond and she’s been very successful in helping with the professional development of her Belfair branch team.

“Amity, Heidi and Rachel are dedicated employees who give their full selves to their positions here at OlyFed and they’ve made a marked improvement in many of our customers’ and colleagues’ lives,” Deck said.

“All three of these individuals are dedicated to excellence in all they do and it’s evident in the quality of their work and customer service. We’re fortunate to have them as OlyFedders and they are very deserving of these promotions.”
