OlyFed Announces Leadership Promotions

Olympia Federal Savings (OlyFed) is pleased to announce the promotions of several team members.

Jennifer Arnold, EVP/Chief Operating Officer

Jennifer Arnold has been promoted to Executive Vice President (EVP)/Chief Operating Officer where she will now oversee management of the bank’s operations along with setting comprehensive goals for the performance and growth of the organization.

Arnold who most recently served as Senior Vice President (SVP)/Chief Banking Officer began her career with OlyFed in 2007 as a Customer Service Representative (CSR) and has served in every level of management within the Association’s retail banking and lending operations. Arnold serves on the board of Habitat for Humanity of South Puget Sound and is a graduate of the Washington Banking Association (WBA) Executive Development program.

Mike Bowen, EVP/Chief Information Officer

Mike Bowen has been promoted to Executive Vice President (EVP)/Chief Information Officer. Bowen began his OlyFed career in 2017 when he joined the Association as the bank’s Technology Officer with more than 15 years of experience managing business-critical technology systems.

Just two years ago Bowen was recognized as one of South Sound Magazines 40 Under 40 Business Leaders for his work in advancing the bank’s technology offerings and infrastructure. Most recently, Bowen served as SVP/Chief Information Officer, playing a critical role in the bank’s many technology upgrades. Bowen also currently serves as President of the board of directors with the Olympia School District Education Foundation.

“Mike has consistently demonstrated extraordinary competence when it comes to systems and security management,” Deck said.

“He stays on top of the latest trends, activities and opportunities on behalf of the bank, and he brings creative ideas along with masterful negotiation skills to our strategic efforts and critical initiatives. Mike will play a vital role in the growth and strength of OlyFed far into the future.”

Bobbi Kerr, SVP/Chief Administration Officer

Bobbi Kerr has been promoted to Senior Vice President (SVP)/Chief Administration Officer and she will now serve as a member of the bank’s executive team. Kerr, who will celebrate 35 years with OlyFed this July, also serves as the bank’s Security Officer and oversees the organization’s facility and compliance teams.Bobbi Kerr at the downtown OlyFed branch

Kerr, who has worked in just about every part of the bank’s operations, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the executive team and will continue to play a vital role in helping both strengthen and grow the bank in the future.

“I am so grateful for the insight and thoughtful input Bobbi provides to the safe and secure operations of our bank,” Deck shared. “

She continues to invest in her professional development and in her team members so that they cannot only be a resource for customers and employees but that we also have the tools and information to protect and operate the bank efficiently and effectively. I am honored to work with Bobbi and excited for what her new role will mean for the organization.”


Amanda Coic AVP Loan OriginationsAmanda Crouthamel, VP/Residential Lending Manager

Amanda Crouthamel has been promoted to Vice President (VP)/Residential Lending Manager. With her promotion, Crouthamel joins the bank’s senior leadership team, where she will play a vital role in helping with the short and long-term strategic planning for the organization. Crouthamel joined OlyFed in 2008 as a Customer Service Representative and has served as an IRA Specialist, Assistant Branch Manager, Loan Officer and Loan Underwriter.


Michal Ledesma from Data & Analytics

Michal Ledesma, AVP/Data Analytics Manager

Michal Ledesma has been promoted to Assistant Vice President (AVP)/Data Analytics Manager and with her promotion she becomes an officer of the bank. Ledesma was hired as the Marketing Assistant at OlyFed and just a few years later in 2010, Michal took on the role of Database Specialist. A quick study and incredibly smart, Michal was promoted to Senior Report Developer in 2015 and in 2021, she was promoted to Data Analytics Manager.


Melissa Kirkeby of Olympia Federal Savings in downtown Olympia, WA

Melissa Kirkeby, AVP/Mortgage Loan Officer Manager

Melissa Kirkeby has been promoted to AVP/ Mortgage Loan Officer Manager where she will lead the bank’s team of residential loan officers. A college intern with OlyFed, Kirkeby started her career with the bank in 2004 as a student at Washington State University. Hired as a full-time Lead Customer Service Representative (CSR) in 2006, she was promoted to Savings Counselor, then Retirement Specialist and then Operations Supervisor. In 2014, Kirkeby was promoted again to Assistant Branch Manager and then Lacey Branch Manager in 2016. In 2018, Kirkeby chose to focus on loan production and became a Loan Officer and in 2019, she was named Senior Loan Officer and in 2022 she was promoted to an officer of the bank as an Assistant Vice President (AVP).

Chuck Hoeschen, Commercial Banking Manager

Chuck Hoeschen has been promoted to Commercial Banking Manager where he will lead the bank’s commercial real estate lending efforts. Hoeschen joined OlyFed in October 2020 with 28 years of prior banking experience, half of which was spent in commercial financing.  Hoeschen has done a wonderful job of managing an extensive portfolio of client projects and his knowledge, experience and expertise will be incredibly valuable in his new role.


Scott Gunther, Business Loan Officer

Scott Gunther has been promoted to Business Loan Officer where he will work with local entrepreneurs and owners to help strengthen and grow their local enterprises. Scott joined OlyFed in September 2021 as a Loan Funder, working his way to a Loan Closer II, and since January he has been assisting the commercial and business banking team.


“We are so fortunate to have such a talented, caring and skilled team here at OlyFed,” Deck said. “It is so exciting and rewarding to provide our team members with these growth opportunities. Each of these individuals has and will continue to make a marked improvement in the quality of life for our customers, colleagues and neighbors.”
