AARP Foundation Offers Free Tax Prep
This tax season, AARP Foundation Tax Aide volunteers are available at seven sites in Thurston County to assist with free tax preparation February 3 through April 15 for taxpayers of all ages and income levels.
These volunteer tax counselors have been extensively trained and are IRS-certified. Before making an appointment, they recommend reviewing the Pre-Appointment Packet to see limits on returns that can be prepared and what documents must be completed and brought to the appointment.

VITA Program In-Person Tax Prep
The IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free help for taxpayers who qualify at Saint Martin’s University, Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through April 12, 2025. This event is put on by the Saint Martin’s University School of Business and no appointment is required. VITA is designed to assist low-income individuals and persons with disabilities and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their tax returns.
What to bring:
Photo ID, Social Security/ITIN Cards, all income statements, tuition statement and related expenses if applicable, childcare provider statements, bank account information (for direct deposit of refund).
