Sandy DiBernardo Celebrates 40 Year Anniversary

We are proud to celebrate Sandy DiBernardo, VP/Director of Community Outreach, for 40 years with OlyFed!

Sandy began her OlyFed career in January 1986 as a receptionist and was quickly recognized for her talent and commitment, earning a promotion to Administrative Assistant in June 1987. As her interest and impact in marketing grew, Sandy stepped into the role of Marketing Assistant in January 1991, followed by a promotion to Marketing Coordinator in January 1995. Her leadership continued to expand and in April 1997, she was promoted to Assistant Vice President and Marketing Coordinator. In April 2008, she was promoted to Vice President and Marketing Director, where she helped shape OlyFed’s brand and community presence for more than a decade. Most recently, in September 2022, she was promoted to Vice President and Director of Community Outreach, a role that perfectly reflects her passion for building meaningful connections and strengthening the communities OlyFed serves.

Throughout her career, Sandy has been instrumental in establishing and nurturing dozens of community partnerships that have become cornerstones of OlyFed’s outreach and impact. Her passion for community is evident in her hands-on involvement in hundreds of local events over the years. She has generously given her time and expertise through board and committee service with organizations including Harlequin Productions, Washington Savings League, Buy Local, Thurston Asset Building Coalition, Boys & Girls Clubs of Thurston County, Washington Center for the Performing Arts and West Olympia Rotary.

“Sandy’s impact on OlyFed is immeasurable,” said Josh Deck, President and CEO of OlyFed. “For 40 years, she has led with authenticity, creativity and a genuine love for our community. Sandy has helped define who we are as a community bank, and her relationships, vision and heart continue to make OlyFed stronger every day.”

A Thurston County native and Timberline High School graduate, Sandy’s love for this community runs deep. Outside of work, she enjoys soaking up the sunshine, relaxing on warm beaches and traveling with her husband John of 42 years. Some of her favorite destinations include Hawaii, Mexico and Italy. Sandy and John share a love of music and even have a recording studio in their home, a reflection of their creative spirit and lifelong appreciation for the arts. She also cherishes simple moments close to home, enjoying long walks with John and their dog Raja.

One unforgettable highlight of Sandy’s career came in 2013, when she arranged for the legendary band Steppenwolf to perform at the Boys & Girls Club auction, fittingly named Born to Be Wild, after the band’s iconic song. The band not only performed at the event, but lead singer Glen Bui later joined Sandy at her home for a memorable jam session, a perfect example of how Sandy brings creativity, connection and heart to everything she does.

Please join us in congratulating Sandy on this remarkable milestone anniversary!
