Fraud Alert | Phishing Calls Spoofing OlyFed's Toll Free Number

Man holding a phone in his hand.We received several recent reports from business banking customers saying that they have received calls from scammers spoofing OlyFed’s toll free number and posing as OlyFed employees. The scammers are telling OlyFed customers that there have been invalid login attempts with their online banking. Customers are then asked by the scammers to provide the callers with their account information along with other personally identifiable information.

We share this out of an abundance of caution and to increase awareness so that if contacted you are equipped with the best practices for fraud prevention.

The best way to stay safe is to know how to protect yourself from fraudsters. If something doesn’t feel right, trust your instincts.

Please note these very important safety tips and recommendations:

If you receive a phone call or text message and you’re any bit skeptical it is not us, tell the person on the other end of the phone that you are going to contact us directly. We will not be upset with you hanging up on us; we’ll be glad you did to ensure your security and financial well-being. When you call us back, we’ll be happy to assist you.

Our Fraud Center will never ask you for your personally identifiable information such as debit card number, social security number, passwords and/or personal identification number (PIN). Our team may ask you for a combination of some basic security and identification questions to ensure they are in fact talking to you, while safeguarding your account.

We will never ask you to sign in or offer up personal/confidential information.

If you are unsure if it is truly OlyFed on the other end of the line or text message, don’t respond and call us.
