The team of 11-year-olds from the Olympia area won the Pacific Northwest Regional Tournament in Meridian, Idaho on Saturday, July 25. OlyFed CEO Josh Deck is an assistant coach on the team, which includes his son Parker who plays, catcher, infield and pitcher.

“This an incredible opportunity for this great group of young competitors who have demonstrated outstanding teamwork, focus, resolve and hard work to earn this once-in-a-lifetime experience,” Deck said.

“I am so proud of this team and all the parents and families who have supported them all season. It’s inspiring to see how our community has rallied around these boys and how they have embraced the chance to bring their best to the field each day.”

The Black Hills team from Olympia will have the opportunity to play the very best teams from across the United States and countries like Puerto Rico, Mexico and Curacao. Since the tournament is only two weeks away, there is very little time for families to prepare for travel and all the associated expenses. Black Hills Youth Baseball is looking for support to help these boys realize their dreams at the World Series.

The team is also hosting a fill the helmet fundraiser on Thursday, July 30 at 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Marvin and Martin Roads in Lacey.
