April is national “Math Awareness Month.” Join students, parents and businesses within our Community for Math for Life 2022!
To celebrate and engage our students and community around real-life Math applications, the Thurston County Chamber Education Committee is promoting the 11th annual Math for Life event for students in Griffin, Olympia, North Thurston, Tumwater, Yelm school districts, as well as private schools in Thurston County. It’s a fun & free activity during Spring Break! (Out of town for the week of spring break? You still have a chance to win, Math for Life runs from April 3rd and runs through April 16, 2022.)
What to Expect:
Go on a scavenger hunt to local businesses and find out how they use math! When you participate, you have an opportunity to win fun prizes! One grand prize winner will be selected from participating school districts to win a Kindle Fire!
How to Participate:
- Students in K-12 are eligible to participate.
- Receive a Math for Life Map at school or download it here when it becomes available
- Visit at least 5 of the local businesses listed on the Math for Life Map.
- Have fun!
- Tell your Teacher you participated in Math for Life, and you will be entered to win prizes and possibly a Kindle Fire Tablet!
