At our one and only annual fundraising event, we will inspire you with stories from our residents and our impact on the community – sharing how having safe, healthy, and affordable homes can change lives.
We’ll also share how Homes First currently faces several converging unprecedented challenges: A financial downturn that threatens our sustainability and mission delivery. Post-pandemic construction and supply costs remain significantly inflated, and government contract allowances that have failed to keep pace, compressing our project margins and eliminating the ability to sustain our emergency reserves.
Simultaneously, federal funding—the cornerstone of both rental income and capital grant opportunities—is declining rapidly, placing extraordinary pressure on local funding sources. This combination of increased costs, reduced revenue, and shrinking reserves has created a complete depletion of our cashflow that jeopardizes Homes First’s foundational programs and infrastructure built over years of community investment.
Without immediate financial support from our community combined with fundamental changes to how Homes First operates, the organization risks being unable to fulfill its housing mission or maintain the critical services its communities depend on.
