Thurston County Food Bank’s mission is to eliminate hunger within our community, in the spirit of neighbor helping neighbor. With beginnings in 1972, it has grown to operate two food pantries and a 25,000-square-foot warehouse that provides fresh, frozen, and shelf-stable foods across a four-county hunger-relief network. The Food Bank works to reduce barriers to access through satellite and mobile food banks, plus programs like FORKids school backpacks and summer lunches. It also prioritizes health and children by distributing fresh produce, dairy, deli items, and protein, and by rescuing millions of pounds of wholesome food each year to keep it from going to waste.
