Home Shows + OlyFed Make Building, Buying and Remodeling Easier
Whether building from the ground up or renovating your first, last or forever home, you’re going to hire pros at some point. And that’s where home shows come in. They’re a great chance to mingle with businesses and tradespeople about upcoming projects, ongoing repairs or wish list items. OlyFed attends all three shows and staffs a booth at each to help fund whatever project you’re about to take on.
Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer, Ryan Betz says that outside of home shows, they also sponsor autumn’s annual Tour of Homes. Doing this is a way for our community to visit a number of new construction and remodel projects throughout the county, says Betz. “This too is a fantastic event, because you get to meet many builders and professionals in the construction industry to get ideas and ask these experts questions,” he adds. “Home shows really provide the same opportunity. It’s a great place to begin the process of figuring out what projects you want to tackle while getting design and product ideas.”
His colleague, Retail Banking Manager Casey Kilborn, agrees. He loves working their booth. “It’s a great way to get in touch with the community as they start projects, see what’s out there, and finally put faces with names,” he shares.
OlyFed Can Help with Mortgage Financing, Renovation Costs or Answering FAQs
Homes are more than just four walls and a place to lay your head. They’re a place where we gather with family and friends, making lifetime memories. They are also an investment for the future. But like any big purchase, your house requires maintenance and improvements every so often. From remodel projects to additions and ADUs (Accessory Dwelling Units), OlyFed has the financing solutions to make these dreams possible. In addition, OlyFed has green loans to provide energy-efficient upgrades for your home like new low-e windows, ductless heating/cooling systems, solar panels, tankless water heaters, upgraded insulation and more.
“We end up meeting a number of customers that are looking to build a home starting this summer or who are planning to take on a sizeable home improvement project,” Betz says.
“We can provide several creative ideas when it comes to financing options, so it works best with the customer’s goals and their current and future financial situation. We also tend to meet first-time homebuyers and homeowners looking to purchase a property in the near future and they want to connect with us about how to approach the home-buying process.”
And that’s a great time for OlyFedders to answer questions or provide information, says Kilborn. This informational opportunity in a relaxed, informal setting—often with food, music, and prizes—is ideal for sharing details about banking resources in a real-world, lowkey way.
OlyFed’s Information and Experience Build Confidence When Borrowing for Home Repairs
Chatting with Ryan, Casey and the OlyFed team at a local home show is just the first step. You can open a checking or savings account online or do a little research into their home loans, construction funding and Affordable Homebuyer Program, says Kilborn. From there, schedule a virtual or in-person appointment at your neighborhood branch to chat through the project.
Building is often a very seasonal thing, explains Kilborn, and there are a lot of moving parts in the process. OlyFed can help folks get prequalified to buy or discuss options for loans based on budget and other crucial factors.
Bank staff volunteer to work these shows because it illustrates the life cycle of a loan from paperwork to the final product. “It’s a great experience for our team,” says Kilborn, “as everyone sees what’s involved as we build out a loan. Some customers have started building already, some are remodeling, some looking and some are ready to buy.” The team tackles frequently asked questions and offers plenty of fun giveaways and raffles. But you don’t have to wait until the show to get started. Give OlyFed a call at 360-754-3400 and check at least one thing off today’s to-do list.
