“Habitat homeowners and clients are financially vulnerable as they make up our area’s front line workers and unfortunately many of them have been laid off because their place of business has been closed,” Shawna Dutton, Director of Development with SPSHFH said. “They are overwhelmingly being negatively impacted financially and need assistance responding to many unexpected emergent needs.”
Dollars from the Emergency Family Needs Fund will help provide mortgage relief, utility assistance and basic needs support to those hardest hit by the pandemic.
“We’ve been partners with Habitat for many years, helping build and finance homes, supporting client financial education and volunteering on their board of directors and committees,” Lori Drummond, President & CEO of Olympia Federal Savings said. “We’ve seen the need first-hand so we wanted to make sure we made a meaningful contribution to this very important cause.”
