Just some of the small businesses we work with here at OlyFed include restaurants, therapists, doctors, dentists, plumbers, electricians, carpenters, attorneys, veterinarians, childcare providers, tutors and my favorite local wine purveyor. These are people who have dedicated their lives to serving others and who bear the risk, rewards, challenges and opportunities of entrepreneurship.
“I can’t help but be in awe of the courageous, caring, compassionate, smart, thoughtful, innovative and resilient traits of our business owners.”
As a member of the board with the Thurston Economic Development Council, I am surrounded by talented professionals who wake up every day looking for new and creative ways to help improve the health of the social and financial networks that support local jobs, education, recreation and the cultural diversity that make our community so unique and special. These networks are threaded together by trusted, respected and meaningful relationships that are focused on one key objective; caring for one another.
When our intentions and actions are driven by good, the results are even better. As I look around and see a community rich with collaboration and a commitment to constant improvement, I can see the footprints of small business and nonprofit leaders who have and continue to guide us in setting priorities and action plans that advance our community.
From the bottom of my heart, I say thank you to our area’s small business leaders for helping us all be better people and professionals. And would like to give a shoutout to our team that works to build local business!
